Bangor Theological Seminary participates in all federal financial aid programs including the Federal Pell and Federal SEOG Grant programs, the Federal Perkins and Federal Stafford Loan programs, and the Federal Work-Study Program. Undergraduate students may be eligible for Federal Pell and SEOG grants, Federal Work-Study, Federal Perkins Loans, and Federal Stafford Loans. Undergraduate students who are residents of Maine and who have exceptional need may also qualify for the Maine Student Incentive Scholarship. Graduate students may be eligible for Federal Work-Study, Federal Perkins Loans, and Federal Stafford Loans. In addition, the Seminary makes grants from its own student aid fund to needy undergraduate and graduate students. The Seminary also offers a student health insurance plan. To apply for financial aid, students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which may be obtained by contacting the Office of Student Services. This form collects income and asset information about the applicant and his/her partner that determines eligibility for federal, state and institutional assistance. In the case of dependent students (typically those under 24 years of age), the application collects information regarding the applicant and the custodial parent(s). The Seminary also offers flexible payment plans for students who choose to make monthly payments on tuition and fees. The web page of the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME), Maine's higher education and business finance agency, offers additional information on financial aid programs. For more information, contact the Office of Student Services or e-mail Brian Moody, Director of Student Services.
