Jean Alexander,
Trustee
Jean Alexander, Search
committee chair, is the Pastor of the United Parish of Auburndale, a
federated UMC and UCC congregation in Newton, Mass. Prior to this call she
served as one of the Conference Ministers of the Maine Conference of the
United Church of Christ. She has previously served churches in both the
Washington D.C. and Philadelphia areas.
While not a graduate of
BTS, as Conference Minister she soon learned how important this seminary is
not only to Maine but to all of northern New England. She has been a trustee
for 6 years and has begun her third term on the board. |

Ronald Baard, Faculty

Ron Baard is the Associate Professor of Mentored Practice. He works with the
students and experienced pastors, chaplains and other human service
professionals to help form effective mentoring relationships
which empower students in moving toward their various vocations in ministry.
He also
teaches courses in the Pastoral Studies area. Ron is an ordained
minister in the United Church of Christ and lives in Brunswick, Maine with
his wife Mary and daughters Lauren and Karin.

H. Lowell
Brown, Trustee
H. Lowell Brown, JD, is special counsel to the Business Fraud and Complex
Litigation Practice, in the Washington, D.C. office of Cadwalader,
Wickersham & Taft.Mr. Brown has written extensively concerning compliance
programs and the ethical and legal issues facing corporate counsel in regard
to internal investigations.
He has also written extensively concerning issues arising under the Foreign
Corrupt Practices Act and he is the author of the treatise, Bribery in
International Commerce (Thomson-West, 2003). He is a frequent speaker
concerning compliance and internal investigations. He serving his first term
as a Trustee.

Susan Davies, Faculty &
Dean of Students

Sue has served under four presidents in her 24 years at BTS. She was
ordained in the United Church of Christ in 1973, and served congregations
for 13 years before joining the faculty.
She teaches in the Pastoral
Studies department, and has served Academic Dean and as Dean of Students and
External Relations. Sue has significant responsibilities with the World
Alliance of Reformed Churches, the Association of Theological Schools in the
U.S. and Canada, and the Faith and Order Commission of the National Council
of Churches.

Robert Grove-Markwood '82,
Trustee
Bob grew up in Ohio, where he received degrees from Oberlin College and
Bowling Green State University. Following graduation from BTS he served a
church in Ohio, before returning to as Director of Admissions from 1985 to
1987.
Bob has served the Presque Isle Congregational Church, UCC since September
of 1987, and has been active in a number of local community groups and
organizations, as well as the Maine Conference of the United Church of
Christ.
He is married to Susan L. Grove-Markwood (whose father, Reverend Harold
Grove, is a BTS grad). Susan and Bob have four sons.

Michael
Huddy '99, Staff
After earning the MTS degree at the Portland campus, Michael worked in
outdoor ministry and served a small community church as pastor before moving
to Bangor and joining the BTS staff in 2001.
He serves
as Director of Admissions and Financial Aid as well as Director of
Marketing.

Wendy Laidlaw, Trustee
Wendy is a principal, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer
of R. M. Davis, Inc., a wealth management company in Portland. Wendy holds
a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from George Mason University and
a Master of Business Administration degree from Meredith College.
Born in Michigan and now residing in Portland with Mike, her husband of 20
years, Wendy has two step-sons and six grandchildren.

Annette
Mott, Student
Annette Mott serves as the
Director of Local Church Resources for the Maine Conference of the United
Church of Christ and is currently a senior in the Master of Divinity
program at BTS.
She resides with her husband
in Bowdoinham, Maine.

Elizabeth
Tipper '95, Trustee
Betsy graduated from BTS with the MTS degree and currently serves as lay
reader and Eucharistic minister at the Episcopal church in Waterville.
She and her husband Jerry are both retired. Betsy has been a BTS trustee for 8 years,
currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board, and has served on many committees for
the Seminary. |
