The 189th Commencement
The 189th Commencement was held at the State Street Congregational Church in Portland on Friday, May 16.
With a graduating class of 18, twelve students received the Master of Divinity degree, five received the Master of Arts degree, and one student received the Seminary Diploma.
The Commencement speaker was the Rev. Dr. Mathew Myer Boulton, Assistant Professor of Ministry Studies at Harvard Divinity School.
Dr. Boulton has published on Reformed liturgical theology in dialogue with social science, Christian lamentation in dialogue with biblical studies, and is the author of God Against Religion: Rethinking Christian Theology Through Worship (Eerdmans, 2008) and a co-editor and contributor to the volume Doing Justice to Mercy: Religion, Law, and Criminal Justice (University of Virginia Press, 2007).
An ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), he also serves as associate pastor and director of music for Hope Church (UCC/DOC) in Roslindale, Massachusetts.
