  188th Commencement

The 188th Commencement of Bangor Theological Seminary was held Friday May 18th, 2007, at the Columbia Street Baptist Church in Bangor. This year's commencement address on "Faith and Ministry in this Time" was delivered by the Rev. Maren Tirabassi.

Over 300 family, friends, and visitors filled the church sanctuary as 26 students participated in the graduation ceremony. The Rev. Dr. William C. Imes, the Seminary’s ninth president, presided over ceremony. Eight students received the Master of Divinity degree, seven students were awarded the Master of Arts degree, and two students received the Seminary Diploma. Nine students received the Doctor of Ministry Degree.

The Rev. Dr. Susan Davies, Jonathan Fisher Professor of Christian Education and Dean of Students, served as senior class advisor and preached during the morning senior service of worship. 

Reunions were held for the class of 1957 (50th anniversary) and the class of 1982 (25th anniversary).

Founded in 1814, Bangor Theological Seminary is an ecumenical Seminary in the Congregational tradition of the United Church of Christ.  Since 1991 BTS has been a school in two places, with fully accredited campuses in both Bangor and Portland.
