Maine Hall at the historic Bangor Theological Seminary campus on Union Street in Bangor has just been renovated, and will serve as home for senior citizens and disabled veterans who need safe, affordable housing in Bangor. UMO Honors Professor Emerita Susan E. Davies
On October 26, 2011, the Women in the Curriculum Program at the University of Maine will honor Susan E. Davies with the Maryann Hartman award. The award is given to Maine women of distinction in the arts, politics, business, education and community service. --Congratulations, Sue!! Mark Your Calendars: Convocation 2012, January 9-11

Convocation 2012, Evolving World, Emerging Church, will provide fresh ideas and insights and opportunities for dialogue for all who are interested in the life of the church and the life of the spirit in the coming decades. Please note the earlier dates, which will allow us to have freely available parking at Husson University. We will provide more information on evening events, worship leaders, and more as soon as we can. Online registration will be available shortly. Save the dates! |
Upcoming Campus Visits for Prospective Students
Adrea Jaehnig, Director of Admissions, asks all alumni and friends of BTS to help her spread the word about upcoming campus visits to prospective students. Campus visits may include the opportunity to observe a class, meet current students and faculty, tour the campus, and discuss the admissions process. The next two campus visit days are Thursday, October 27 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on the Portland Campus and on Monday, November 7 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on the Bangor Campus. Registration is required. Register for a Campus Visit. If these dates don’t work for you, interested individuals can contact Adrea to set up a more convenient time at ajaehnig@bts.edu.
BTS Welcomes New Trustees
The Reverend Reuben Bell is a Doctor of Osteopathy who serves as Associate Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of New England. With a Master of Divinity from the Academy of the New Church Theological School in PA, he is an expert on the scientific and theological works of Emanuel Swedenborg.
The Reverend Gary A. DeLong holds an M.A. in Divinity from ANTS and a Doctor of Humanities degree from Cumberland University. He led the Maine Seacoast Missionary Society for the last twelve years, forming partnerships, developing new programs, and growing the budget four-fold. Previously, Reverend DeLong served as Senior Pastor of First Church of Christ in Longmeadow, MA. He has often attended Convocation at BTS.
We are delighted to welcome the new members of our Board of Trustees. Please look for the Winter Open Door, which will be out in March 2012, for more information on our Board.
