Dear Students:
Syllabi are always works in progress, and this one is no exception to that rule. I will post a bibliography as soon as I can do some revision. As you can see, this is busy course. We will negotiate the due dates when we meet. The presentations are, of course, due the day that they are assigned, but the final assignment is negotiable.
This course is an experiment. We will have, I hope, students on four different campuses. There is a need for some patience with this aging technophobe. Our hope is that this course, one that none of the participating campuses could offer alone, will have enough enrollment to give us a critical mass and some internal class diversity. I am looking forward to it.
Those of you who have had a course in the early or medieval church (Christian Movement I at Bangor) know how central St. Plato is to the development of the church. We will be spending much time with this figure and his great disciple, Plotinus. Looking forward to meeting you all.
Email ideas to me and they will be put on the class blog. You get there from my website.
