The program The Doctor of Ministry program at Bangor Theological Seminary is designed for seasoned practitioners who have a common goal: to revitalize their congregational or community-based ministries.
The program offers challenging coursework that builds on experience. It emphasizes theological reflection and inquiry -- and lively interaction among you, our degree candidates, and seminary faculty. And, it provides an invaluable opportunity to form lasting friendships and deepen worship life as you relate new concepts and ideas directly to your ministry.
The experience You’ll enjoy a variety of educational experiences including text studies, seminars, lectures, and workshops. As part of a colleague group, you’ll work closely with fellow religious leaders, discussing each other’s ministries and exploring recent developments in related academic fields.
We’ve designed the Doctor of Ministry program so it can be completed in three years, following a manageable schedule. The first year begins with an intensive weeklong orientation session during August, continues with four two-day seminars each semester, and ends with another intensive weeklong session in June. The second year follows the same schedule. During the third year, however, you’ll focus on your capstone project, designed by you to revitalize your specific ministry.
