This page provides a convenient list of the information that is available from a variety of sources. It is our hope that students, prospective students, and others will find this resource helpful as they make enrollment or other decisions.

Much of the information may be found in the Catalog and the Student Guide. The following list is intended as a helpful means of summarizing the most frequently asked questions and linking to the appropriate source of information.


Accreditation  - Agencies that Accredit, Approve or License the Seminary. Bangor Theological Seminary is accredited by:

  • The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada

  • The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.

  • Maine Board of Education

 

Completion/Graduation Rates - In accordance with the Student's Right to Know Act, schools must report the completion/graduation rates of their full-time, first-time undergraduates after six years of enrollment. This information is available upon request from the Registrar. Note: As a graduate institution, these statistics are not an accurate representation of the entire student body.

Facilities and Services Available to Students with Disabilities

BTS provides accommodations and services to ensure equal access to education as intended by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. For more information contact the Office of the Dean of Students.

Faculty - Faculty and Instructional Personnel

 

FERPA - A student's rights with respect to their educational records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).  At its discretion Bangor Theological Seminary may provide Directory Information in accordance with the provisions of FERPA.

Directory Information is that which would generally not be considered harmful to the student, or an invasion of privacy if disclosed. The complete FERPA policy is found in the
Student Guide.

Returning Federal Aid - Requirements For Returning Title IV Aid

 

Security - Annual Security Report For Enrolled and Prospective Students and Employees.  The BTS Annual Security Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on or near each campus. The Student Guide also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
