Immunization Requirements

Maine's post-secondary school immunization law, enacted in 1987, requires ALL full-time and part-time degree seeking students born after 1956 to provide Bangor Seminary with documentation of immunizations against the following diseases:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria booster within the past 10 years
  • Two Mumps, measles, rubella vaccines after your first birthday

Send a photocopy of your immunization record signed by a doctor or nurse with specific evidence of dosage, type of vaccine and/or immunity to:

Registrar’s Office
Two College Circle
PO Box 411
Bangor, Maine 04402-0411

A high school immunization record is acceptable without a doctor’s or nurse’s signature, but requires the signature of a school official.

If you do not have access to these records, you must show laboratory evidence demonstrating immunity

Students may be exempted from the immunization requirement for opposition to immunization based on religious, moral philosophical and/or personal beliefs. If you wish to be exempted you must submit your opposition to the policy in writing to the Registrar’s Office.

Compliance is mandatory. Registration can not be completed until proof of immunization has been provided.

If you have any questions about the above requirements please contact the Registrar's Office at 800-287-6781 x136.
