Portland
Campus
The Seminary in Portland is located at State Street
Church, U.C.C., the home of one of Portland's historic congregations.
Maine's largest city, Portland
is located on a peninsula surrounded by the waters of Casco Bay.
Modern office buildings amidst nineteenth century brick structures
make Portland a city of architectural contrasts.
State Street Church was founded in 1852 as a mission church to the
"outer reaches" of Portland and has since been instrumental
in resurrecting the area's Interfaith Council. The Seminary facilities
include the General Theological Library, the Abigail Bayley Commons,
the Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain Classroom, conference rooms, a
well-equipped kitchen and lounge area, and faculty and administrative
offices.
