Bangor Theological Seminary Worship Committee
The seminary worship committee:
- Is a presidential committee that is chaired by a faculty member.
Currently it is chaired by Cliff
Guthrie.
- Acts as a working forum for students, faculty, and staff to be actively
involved in planning for and reflecting upon worship at BTS.
- Establishes guidelines for the conduct of worship services on campus.
- Coordinates the work of the seminary's worship leaders: including the
choir, musicians, and the Anglican Studies Director:The
Rev. Peg Thomas
- Prepares the yearly schedule for the main chapel services in Beach Chapel
on Wednesdays.
- Creates and provides other worship opportunities for the Seminary
community.
- Works with the administration and faculty to help plan for special
seminary services, like Convocations.
- Serves as an opportunity for students to learn how to create special
services and take care of the needs of a worshiping community.
- Works closely with the faculty and administration to ensure that worship
at the Seminary is thoughtfully prepared and representative of the wide
range of traditions and commitments of our seminary community.
The committee is open to anyone who wishes to come and be a part of this ongoing work.
We normally meet after chapel on the second Wednesday of the month in the Glick
Room.
