Doctor of Ministry Program

Bangor
Theological announces new Doctor of Ministry Program
to be held in Portland, ME for Fall of 2004

"As someone who was a parish pastor for 32 years before assuming the presidency of Bangor Theological Seminary, I take special pleasure in inviting you (if you are ordained or a professional engaged in religious work and live in eastern New York, northern New England, or neighboring regions of Canada) to become a part of our D. Min. program.  It has three great strengths.  First, it will help you update and increase your professional skills and knowledge. Second, and more importantly, the program will take seriously the experience you have and invites the participants to learn from one another in organized and helpful ways. Third, and most importantly, this educational venture will ask you to take seriously the context in which you work. You will be asked to devise and carry our a project in company with a committee of persons representing the places where you carry out your ministry. This is an exciting opportunity that I hope you will seize."

Dr. William C. Imes, President

"What I believe is foundational to the Bangor D. Min. Program is the collegial learning style which is evident from day one. Being able to share with faculty and ministerial colleagues around a table of learning and reflection was a wonderful part of the class process. I also appreciated resources which made the educational process extremely relevant in this post-Christendom period of ecclesial uncertainty. In a very real way it gave me a road map for ministry. . . I would definitely encourage those exploring the possibility of taking a doctoral program to strongly consider a D. Min. from Bangor."--Alan C. Rhodes.
