The
Application Process
Admission to the Seminary is selective
and based on the following considerations: academic accomplishment and
promise, emotional maturity, clarity of educational purpose, and
reasoned vocational aspirations. A complete application includes
the initial application form, letters of reference, academic
transcripts, and an essay supporting one's educational plans and
vocational goals. These materials, in addition to interviews
with faculty and The Director of Admissions, are all considered in
making the admissions decision for degree programs.
When you have reviewed the initial
information packet and ascertained the requirements for admissions to
your intended degree or program, call or email us and request the
application for that specific program, or you may download a pdf copy
and mail it in. You will need to request
a letter of recommendation from four individuals (three for MA
degree). Supply each with an Admission Applicant Reference Cover
Sheet provided in the application package. Recommendations
should be sent directly to the Seminary Enrollment office on the
Bangor campus. Request that official transcripts from each
college or university attended be sent directly to the Seminary. These
transcripts must be received directly from the institution.
Student copies will not be accepted. (Bangor Plan applicants
should include a high school transcript or official certificate of
equivalence.)
Return the application form to the
Seminary by August 15th, for admission in September, (December 5 for
January) with a $40.00 nonrefundable admission fee ($20.00 for special
students or application to audit.)(If you are applying for the Doctor
of Ministry program, the application fee is $50.00, and the deadline is
July 15th.)
Two interviews, with faculty members
and the Director of Admissions, are required to be considered for
admission as a degree student. These interviews generally focus
on vocational interest, experience, and calling. Someone from
Enrollment will call you to schedule the interviews once all pieces of
your application have been received. |
