Anglican Studies Program

Courses
In cooperation with the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, Bangor Theological Seminary offers courses in Anglican Studies. These courses are designed for anyone interested in exploring and learning more about history, theology, ethics and liturgy from the Anglican (Episcopal) perspective.

In conjunction with other courses offered in the Master of Divinity curriculum, the courses offered in Anglican Studies fully prepare students for ordination in the Episcopal Church in the USA. Mentored Practice placement in an Episcopal congregation is available through the Seminary’s Mentored Practice Program.

Worship
Worship is also part of the Anglican Studies. When classes are in session, there is a service of Holy Eucharist in the Anglican tradition on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. at the Bangor Campus. Typically the lections are from Lesser Feasts and Fasts; a student, Episcopalian or from another faith tradition, offers the homily; and a priest of the diocese celebrates. All are welcome.
